About Dr. Dennison
Dr. Dennison completed her undergraduate and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at The Ohio State University, where she received one of the most sought-after scholarships. Following graduation, she moved to Chicago, where she became a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and joined a highly aesthetic-driven office, performing stunning smile makeovers on many of her patients.
After nearly a decade in cosmetic dentistry, she began questioning why patients who brushed and flossed diligently still struggled with cavities or gum disease, or why some children developed orthodontic issues while others with similar habits did not. Driven by curiosity and a desire to provide better care, Dr. Dennison immersed herself in studying the oral microbiome, nutrition, saliva testing, minimally invasive techniques and the connection between oral health and sleep-disordered breathing. This journey reshaped her vision for dentistry.
Seeing a need for dentistry that goes beyond repairing teeth to support whole-body wellness, Dr. Dennison started Avery Dental Wellness. Her practice uses a model of care that emphasizes prevention, long-term health and patient education, ensuring that every treatment supports both oral and overall well-being. She is dedicated to providing exceptional, gentle dentistry to patients of all ages, and Dr. Dennison (or Dr. Emily, as the kids call her) especially loves working with her pediatric patients.
Dr. Dennison’s greatest joy in life is making people smile, which is why she became a dentist. She strives to make every appointment comfortable for her patients and wants nothing to stand between them and their dreams for a healthy, beautiful smile. She approaches all of her patients, especially those with dental anxiety, with compassion and empathy. She has made it her mission to make the dental office a “judgment-free area,” accepting and caring for patients with all dental issues. Dr. Dennison believes that “the most important thing is that you’re here today.”
