Common Dental Emergencies We Treat
- Severe or persistent toothaches that don't improve with over-the-counter pain relief
- Knocked-out or partially dislodged teeth from falls, sports injuries, or other accidents
- Cracked, chipped or fractured teeth causing pain or sharp edges
- Swelling or infection in the gums, cheek or jaw area
- Lost fillings or crowns that expose sensitive tooth structure
- Bleeding that won't stop, whether from an injury or another underlying issue
- Broken or damaged orthodontic appliances causing discomfort or injury to soft tissue
What To Do Before You Reach Us
- Knocked-out tooth – Keep the tooth moist, avoid touching the root, and try to place it back in the socket if possible without forcing it. If that's not possible, keep it in milk or saliva and get to our office immediately.
- Severe toothache – Rinse with warm water and gently floss around the area to rule out trapped food, but avoid placing aspirin directly on the gum or tooth.
- Chipped or broken tooth – Rinse your mouth with warm water and save any broken tooth fragments if you can find them.
- Bleeding – Apply gentle, firm pressure with clean gauze or cloth and keep your head elevated while heading to our office.
- Swelling – Apply a cold compress to the outside of the face to help minimize swelling until you're seen.
